We’ve got loads going on this Whit half-term, so why not spend some time with PAS!

We have 5 ‘Soccer & Multi-Sport Holiday Camps’ running at various Primary Schools in Derbyshire, Cheshire and now Tameside. Locations include St. Margaret’s Primary School for our Glossop Camp, Disley Primary School for our Disley Camp, Chapel-en-le-Frith Primary School for our Chapel Camp, Fairfield Endowed Junior School for our Buxton Camp and NEW for this half-term, Gorse Hall Primary School for our Stalybridge Camp.

All the above ‘Holiday Camps’ are open to boys and girls from 4 – 16 years of age. Our Camps are all about having fun, fun, fun in a safe and supervised environment. There’s no way to get bored as the day is action packed with great sports, fun breaks and wacky competitions!

We have various options available to everyone, starting from our half day options to the full 4 days! All Camps run from 9.30am until 3.30pm and prices start from just £7.

For the more adventurous… We have our popular ‘Adventure Camp’ running for the full 4 days. Activities include, bushcraft and shelter building, mountain biking, rock climbing and weaseling, plus flat water canoeing!!!

Adventure Camp prices start from £20 for a single day with discounts for multiple days. However, things are booking up, so hurry up…

Lawrence, along with several other members of staff, has had a cracking month and really impressed on and off the coaching field. Again, Lawrence is one of our apprentices and as with Sam and Sarah, is showing brilliant promise in becoming a top quality coach.

It has been noticed our monthly competition is really working well and every member of staff is working very hard at the moment. With a good working ethos within the company, it’s great to hear good feedback and fantastic when that feedback gets passed around, usually resulting in the company picking up new schools/work. This is something we put down to our staff performing at the highest level on a consistent basis.

Well done everyone for last months hard work and once again congratulations to Lawrence.

After a long and thoughtful discussion, our February winner was… Sam Swann. Sam is another one of our apprentices who is showing great promise within the company. He is developing into a good sports coach and learning well from our more experienced team members.

With 5 ‘Soccer & Multi-Sport’ Holiday Camps and our Residential Adventure Camp, it truly has been an Easter to remember.

Attendance on all our camps has been excellent too, with over 300 children taking part at our Glossop, Disley, Chapel and Buxton Holiday Camps. Various sports were played over the two weeks and every child who took part participated very well. There was some brilliant teamwork taking place, with some of our older and more experienced holiday campers helping out our younger players.

Our sell out 3 day Residential Adventure Camp was also a huge success! We had 15 budding adventure campers and all participants had a fantastic 3 days. They took part in various activities, including our popular high ropes course, orienteering challenges, bushcraft activities and our exciting raft building activity!

Don’t forget our next Adventure & Holiday Camps will be here soon, we will have various camps over 4 days from Tuesday 28th May until Friday 31st May 2013.

We are running two weeks of activities starting on Tuesday 2^nd April 2013. Holiday Camp locations include Glossop, Disley, Buxton and Chapel. All venues are handpicked as they have great facilities, boasting good sized indoor halls, plenty of playground space, plus cracking grass fields! All we need now is some cracking Easter weather… fingers crossed.

As revealed by the BBC on Tuesday, ring-fenced money will be given directly to primary schools in England.

Schools will be able to pay for extra coaching sessions to improve the quality of sports and PE provision.

Prime Minister David Cameron said: “We can create a culture in our schools that encourages all children to be active and enjoy sport.”

Peak Active Sport are hoping that more schools are encouraged to use PAS to provide high class physical education and enhance their school sport, therefore making a huge difference in getting more young people active.

All our Holiday Camps are open to boys and girls from the age of 4 up to 16. Camps start at 9.30am and run until 3.30pm, however there are half day options available. Camps are all about having fun whilst playing sport in a safe, secure and friendly environment.

Highlights from this month has to be our successful Holiday and Adventure Camps, plus PAS starting new sessions at different schools which have just started this week.

Other highlights to acknowledge, is the fact that our staff members are working very hard. Each one developing all the time and pushing the standards higher and higher in our field of coaching. With the result of this, is has been a tough selection for our ‘Employee of the month’ competition.

After a thoughtful debate, our February winner was… Nathan Neequaye (Staff Manager). Nathan has had a cracking month and after his role had been tweaked within the company and overall gaining more responsibilities, he has risen to the challenges.

We have had lots of children join us this week and take part in a multitude of sports and activities. Everyone has really got involved and had a cracking time.

Many children took the opportunity to attend one of our Holiday Camps either at Glossop, Disley or Chapel. There was plenty going on with the choice from 16 sports over the full week. “It was great to see everyone playing different sports and making new friends” said coach Nathan.

Our Adventure Camp was also a super success! Everyday was a sell out and everyone who came will have many stories to tell once back at school. Stories such as summiting Kinder Scout, learning essential survival skills and of course zip wiring more than 100ft over a lake!

The weather has been great today and everyone has been fantastic on Camp. The fun started straight away with welcoming matches, fun games and tournaments, not to mention our coaches challenge competition. We have also had the speed cage in action at our Glossop, Disley and Chapel Camps. There were some super shots with many record breaking scores! The best score from our 3 camps came from Rebecca, who managed to score a whopping 47mph!

Tomorrow should also be another fab day as we have PAS Man visiting all the Holiday Camps.
