Congratulations to the ‘Glossopian Gladiators’ who won the ‘Snowdon Xtreme 3 Challenge’.

The Intensive Care Foundation Snowdon Xtreme 3 Challenge was set in the stunning Snowdonia National Park. Teams of four were challenged to climb Snowdon, cycle 20 miles, canoe Llyn (Lake) Gwynant and cycle 8 miles back to base to raise funds for life saving research into intensive care.

Coach Steve’s team consisted of Will Shaylor, Jude Milburn and Jason Cole, all good friends of Steve’s.

The race started at 7.00am on Saturday 15th June, in what were extremely windy conditions. The team managed to get a good lead and summited Snowdon in just an hour! They then came back down in just 40 minutes, where they had to change quickly onto their bikes for a quick 20 mile ride to Llyn (Lake) Gwynant. A powerful display in the lake meant they completed the canoe section in under 25 minutes. Following this they had the joys of a steep climb, but only had another 8 miles to the finish line.

The ‘Glossopian Gladiators’ stormed to victory in 4 hours, 21 minutes, nearly a full hour ahead of 2nd place!

A cracking effort by the team who were all fundraising for the Intensive Care Foundation.

PAS also helped organise accommodation and transport to and from the race.
